AYF MEMBERS RETURN HOME
Armenian Youth Federation members Nejteh Demirian, Soseh Demirian, Tamar Gulumian and Garbis Kolokossian, and their Hamazkaine Sevan Dance Ensemble colleagues have all returned home to Australia after being stranded in Lebanon for the past week.
Approximately 80 members of the dance troupe were unable to return home from an invitation performance tour of Armenia and the Middle East when Beirut international airport was bombed by the Israeli air force during the recently heightened conflict.
Over the last three days, they have all returned to Sydney via Jordan, to the delight of their parents, families and friends.
AYF Australia would like to thank all who contributed to their priority return, including the Armenian National Committee of Australia, the parents' spokespeople and the Australian Federal Government.
