Jenny Mikakos thanks the AYF
Victorian MP Jenny Mikakos has thanked the Armenian community of Australia by replying to the Armenian Youth Federation's letter of support following her comments urging the recognition of the Pontian Greek, Assyrian and Armenian Genocides committed by the Ottoman Turks.
Ms Mikakos has come under heavy criticism since her comments in Victorian Parliament, and told the AYF she appreciated the community's support after the organisation led a 'Support Mikakos' campaign:
"Thankyou for your e-mail of support. I have recived many e-mails from members of your community and am unable to respond to all of them but I wanted to let you know they are appreciated.
