HEROES HONOURED AT ANNUAL DINNER DANCE
The Armenian Youth Federation of Australia were joined by 200 community guests in celebrating the lives of heroes of Armenia’s past at their Annual Dinner Dance at Willoughby’s Armenian Cultural Centre on Saturday evening.
Master of Ceremonies, AYF Australia member Tamar Gulumian opened the official stanza of the evening with an address, before inviting the AYF Juniors to sing a song in memory of Karekin Nejteh. AYF Australia Executive member, Maggy Kayserian delivered the keynote address, stating that her fellow members were “honoured to belong to a nation that was fought for and preserved by heroes such as Kaleh and Nigol Touman”. She was followed by Mr. Papik Tchakmakchian, who spoke on behalf of the ARF Dro Committee.
Talented singer, Lucine was then invited on stage to entertain the audience with the help of her band. To conclude the evening, Mr. Hagop Gulumian led guests in songs honouring Armenia’s fallen heroes to a great ovation.
