On the 3rd of March, the AYF Western Sydney "Pegor” Chapter held its annual Pedervarian Abstumputuin (February Revolt) dinner dance at the Armenian Cultural Panoyan Centre in Western Sydney.

The aim of the event was to remember the efforts undertaken by the brave Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Fedayis in 1921, specifically, the works of Karekin Njteh. The night started with speeches by Engeroohi Katya Kahramanian and Engeroohi Christina Damirdjian who both explicitly explained the importance of the event to those in attendance.

Haig Kayserian, Chairperson of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation in Australia also thanked the Pegor chapter and urged the youth in the area to continue with the dedication they have shown since the inception of the chapter in February 2016.

Later in the night renowned Sydney Armenian singer Raffi Adourian took to the stage and captivated those in attendance and ended the night with crowd-pleasing revolutionary (hegapookhagan) songs.

The "Pegor" Executive Committee would like to say a big thank you to all those who supported AYF Pegor, to the generous sponsors and to our members for their hard work and dedication in preparing the event. The Pegor chapter hopes to continue to unite the broader Armenian community of Sydney and organise many more successful events in the near future.
