As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Independence of Artsakh, the Armenian Youth Federation of Australia has organised a number of activities throughout the coming week with the aim of increasing public awareness of the current situation in Artsakh, its right to self-determination as well as the recent aggression by Azerbaijan which has caused instability in the region.
AYF Australia has organised social media informational posts and will be collaborating with the Armenian Students’ Association to host exhibitions within universities with a view to educate the Australian youth on the situation. We will also be holding an educational with Mr Kaylar Michaelian; the Permanent Representative to Nagorno-Karabakh about how the youth in the diaspora can help Artsakh, a public exhibition and petition drive in Sydney as well as an educational lecture at schools in New South Wales. Towards the end of the year, the AYF will also organise a winter clothing appeal to help those in need in Artsakh to get through the coldest period of the year.
The AYF sees it as extremely important and a main focus to educate the general public about our struggle as well as the struggle of the natives of Artsakh.
